The Spix's Macaw is an extremely endangered bird since there are no more specimens in the wild. Originally from Brazil, he has been part of a protection program for a few years in order to try to reintroduce it in his natural environment in the more or less long term. The Spix's macaw is characterized by its gray-blue plumage at the level of its head and turquoise blue at the level of its body, the back and the wings being darker. Its beak is black while the wax is gray. Spix's macaw inspired the hero of the animated film RIO.
