موقع ابن عثيمين للافتاء أبو عبد الله محمد بن صالح بن محمد بن سليمان بن عبد الرحمن العثيمين الوهيبي التميمي (29 مارس 1929 - 11 يناير 2001).[1] ولد في ليلة 27 رمضان عام 1347 هـ، في عنيزة إحدى مدن القصيم.



Abu Abd Allah Muhammad ibn Salih ibn Muhammad ibn al-Uthaymin at-Tamimi (in Arabic: أبو عبد الله محمد بن صالح بن محمد بن سليمان بن عبد الرحمن العثيمين التميمي) (1925 - 2001) is a scholar in Islamic science, of Saudi nationality He was one of the most respected Saudi religious figures in Saudi Arabia. Born in 1925 in Unaizah (Saudi Arabia), he memorized the Koran from an early age. He was among others the pupil of Sheikh Abd al-Rahman ibn Nasir as-Sadi, as well as' Abd al-Aziz ibn Abdullah Ibn Baz and Muhammad ash-Shanqitî. During his years of study, he became known for his knowledge in fiqh (jurisprudence), an area in which he wrote several books.
Ibn Uthaymin: Biography
Born in Unaizah in the Al Qasim region of Saudi Arabia on March 9, 1925 (27 Ramadan 1347 of the Muslim calendar), he comes from Banu Tamim ibn Murr of Nejd.
When he started teaching, a large number of students of all nationalities studied with him. His notoriety grows by his interpretation, his explanations and his points of view in the Moslem religion. He is considered by Salafis to be among the most learned who served Islam and his community (Ummah). They consider that Uthaymin's religious verdicts (fatwa) are based on the salafs (pious predecessors) methodology and highlighted from the Qur'an and the Sunnah, the Muslim tradition. He has fifty books to his credit and many of his books have been translated into French, in the field of belief, jurisprudence and hadith.
Ibn Uthaymin: Positions
He allegedly issued a fatwa in which he explains that the practice of caesarean section could be a plot against Islam that would make pregnancy dangerous or even impossible for women.
Ibn Uthaymin: Distinctions
He gave lectures in the mosque of Mecca for thirty-five years. He taught fiqh (jurisprudence), aqida (belief), tafsir (exegesis of the Qur'an), hadith as well as the books of Ibn Taymiyya and Ibn Qayyim al-Jawziyya. Before dying, he also taught at the Islamic Faculty of Imam Muhammad ibn Saud, and was also a member of the Committee of Senior Scholars of Saudi Arabia. He was also the imam and khatib of the Great Mosque of Unayzah.
Uthaymin is considered by Salafis as one of the most influential scholars of the last part of the twentieth century, along with Muhammad Nassiruddin al-Albani and Abdul'Aziz ibn 'Abdillah ibn Baz and received the King Faisal International Prize on 8 February 1994 for his dedication to teaching.
What also made his success was his relationship with his students to whom he spoke regularly. He died on January 5, 2001 and was buried in the Mecca Al-Adil cemetery, next to famous scholars including Ibn Baz. 500,000 people attended the funeral prayer (salat janaza), with 1650 security agents deployed on this occasion.
