Endangered animals

The main cause of this disappearance is the decrease in the population of wild rabbits, the main prey of the feline, caused by two serious diseases.

Secondly, among marine animals, there is the Monachus monachus of the Mediterranean. Monachus monachus is also called monk seal. It is part of the family Pinnipeds, which includes sea lions, walrus and seals. Monachus monachus is the most endangered species in this family. Before, this animal populated all the Mediterranean and part of the African coast. Now, there are no more than 200 monk seals in the Mediterranean. It is one of the ten most endangered species in the world. The monk seals are disappearing because of the increase of pollution of the Mediterranean. The omnipresence of man on the beaches of the Mediterranean pushed seals to leave their habitat. Overfishing has also drained the sea of ​​fish, making the living conditions of Monachus monachus difficult. Fishing nets also cause occasional deaths.

In conclusion, the lynx and Monachus monachus are in danger of extinction. Some die from natural causes, but human activities are also a significant threat.
