The grasshopper of Bosc, also called leptophy or punctate grasshopper is an orthopter, in the same way as the cricket or the cricket. Quite recognizable, with its green body, punctuated by brown dots, and its tiny wings, the grasshopper of Bosc is also endowed with very long antennae. Differentiating from the female, the male has a brown band on the back, quite characteristic. Much smaller than the green grasshopper, the Grasshopper of Bosc has the particularity of being herbivorous, unlike many grasshoppers.

Quite common in Europe, as far as the Asian border, the large green grasshopper is, as its name suggests, the largest of the French Orthoptera. Differentiating from the locust by its long antennae, and its greenish color, the large green grasshopper, present in herbaceous media, reaches 4 to 5 cm in length. The female, recognizable by her auger, lays her eggs in the stalks of plants, while the male, characterized by its powerful stridulations, enchants us with her symphony, in the hottest hours of summer. A carnivorous insect, the large green grasshopper feeds primarily on other insects, caterpillars or larvae.
