You
rarely see a Siberian tiger because it sleeps all day and hunts only at night.
His vision is very developed. To be healthy he must eat at least 10 kg per
night. It is a carnivorous animal and its diet consists of elk, wild boar, elk
and other smaller game such as rabbit and hare.
He
prefers to live in a shelter where there is water and game nearby. He is a
loner, but in the spring he leaves his field to go in search of a female on his
particular field.
The
tigress is fertile only for 3 to 7 days. After mating the male returns home.
After a 15-week gestation the mother gives birth to 2-4 pups. She will go
hunting to feed them and later she will take them with her.
At
the age of one year they are strong enough to tackle large prey. Babies stay
with their mother for 3 years. The tigress will then be ready to mate again.
This

wild cats.

meat to eat and leads them to the hunt. The little ones stay with their mother

two and five.
The
only enemy of the tiger is the man who chases him. This is why this species is
protected because it is endangered. We keep them in zoos to save the race. The
tigers of Siberia and Bengal are also protected against hunters.
The
