TYPES OF LANDSCAPE

Land of highlands, Mongolia is crossed by three mountain ranges: the Altai to the west, the Kangai Mountains in the Center and the Khentii Mountains in the East. The country is dotted with large lakes in the North and huge steppes in the East. Southern Mongolia is covered by the Gobi Desert.
