Types of pollution:

Air pollution:
Air pollution is the degradation of the air we breathe because of pollutants that enter the atmosphere. Peaks of air pollution often occur in summer. The main air pollutants are fine particles, sulfur dioxide (SO2), ozone, nitrogen oxides (NO and NO2), volatile organic compounds (VOCs), etc.
Air pollution is mainly caused by transport (light or heavy vehicles) and combustion plants (including biomass combustion).
Dioxins are a family of 210 compounds of which 17 are toxic. At least one dioxin is carcinogenic to humans. Dioxins are produced during combustion in fires or refuse incinerators.
According to the French Agency for Environmental Health Safety (AFSSE), air pollution, linked for nearly a third to the polluting emissions of cars, would be responsible each year for the death of 6,500 to 9,500 people in France.
It seems that since the awareness of greenhouse gases and their influence on the climate, the taking into account of air pollution is "out of fashion", or even completely forgotten. What about nitrogen oxides and carbon monoxide?

The water pollution:

Water pollution is contamination by waste, chemicals or micro-organisms.
Water pollution is due:
1. to agriculture (because of pesticides and fertilizers).
2. household waste (drugs and biocides released via wastewater that are not treated by treatment plants and lagooning).
Phosphates pollute the watercourse by a phenomenon called eutrophication: the stream is asphyxiated by the proliferation of algae for which phosphate acts as fertilizer. The water is polluted by the oil spills but especially by the oil discharges of the boats.
In many places, wastewater is not treated before it is discharged, as it is very expensive. As a result, a large amount of wastewater is discharged into the sea. This can cause, for example, algae that reproduce very quickly. They cover the surface of the sea and may clog the gills of fish. Wastewater treatment is therefore important for ecology. Every year thousands of fish die because of pollution.
[edit] Soil pollution:
The concept of soil pollution refers to all forms of pollution affecting any type of soil (agricultural, forestry, urban ...).
Polluted soil in turn becomes a possible source of direct or indirect diffusion of pollutants into the environment, via water, dust particles, gaseous emissions or via a concentration and transfer of pollutants by living organisms (bacteria, fungi , plants in turn eaten by animals.
For example, at the beginning of the 2000s, France estimates that 230,000 sites are known to have been polluted or potentially polluted by industry or services in country 1, nearly 4,000 of which are monitoring, diagnostic or rehabilitation measures 1. To this should be added the old municipal landfill sites (at least one for each of the 36 000 municipalities), and pollution from military, agricultural, hunting and other sources.
In the United States, a special fund called Super Fond, with polluters' contribution, is dedicated to the treatment of the most serious cases, under the direct authority of the Federal State
