The insurance market in the Middle East and North Africa in 2017
In 2017, the insurance market in the Middle East and North Africa experienced a premium increase of nearly 5% to 39.2 billion USD. It is the non-life business that is driving growth with an increase in inflows of 6% to 32.2 billion USD. Non-life insurance is still dominant with a market share of 81.9%.
The United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia and Morocco remain at the top of the ranking. These three countries alone account for 68.6% of the total premium volume. Qatar ranks fourth with a market share of 8.74%.
