The importance of renewable energies in the sustainable development of the Eastern region


The territory is a rare and non-renewable "resource". In a sustainable development approach, it must therefore be managed with prudence and economy. Spatial planning structures space: it influences the location of housing, businesses, means of transport; the development of agricultural, mining, commercial, administrative and cultural functions. If it is not defined by environmental issues, the ecological debt will be huge. Regional planning in the Eastern region must be at the heart of sustainable management. Sustainable territorial development requires a global and transversal approach, integrating the different factors that influence the territory (economic and social development, agriculture, environment and energy policy, mobility, heritage protection and resources, etc.).
Energy is one of the determining factors for the development and survival of populations: it is necessary for all human activity and essential to the satisfaction of daily needs (water, food, health, etc.) but also to ensure a minimum of development Economic and Social.
Fossil energies are limited. These sources of energy will soon be exhausted. The solution will undoubtedly come from renewable natural energies considered as inexhaustible: water, wind, sun, geothermal energy, plants, but in addition they produce no toxic waste, greenhouse gas or nuclear waste ...
The problem is that there is not yet in Morocco a real renewable energy culture. Because if the subject is up-to-date and enjoys real media support, citizens under-evaluate the impact of their energy consumption on the environment.
The solution is to reduce the consumption and waste of energy by every citizen, industry and commerce.
For this reason, it is important for the region to pursue a policy of raising awareness of energy saving and the development of sustainable energy that reconciles socio-economic interests and ecological imperatives.
The region's energy savings in industry, street lighting, public administration and mobility are savings for citizens.
