Mohamed Salah. Biography of the player of the national team of Egypt and Liverpool

Mohamed Salah is the forward for Liverpool and the Egyptian national team. With Liverpool, Salah reached the Champions League final twice and won the trophy in the 2018/19 season. The Egyptian national team with Mohamed in the roster competed in the World Cup for the first time in 18 years.

Salah is known not only for his success in football. The Egyptian had a tough time in football, and now, thanks to his influence and income, he is helping his home country. We are talking about the most interesting facts from the life and career of Mohamed Salah.

Salah, as a child, thought about giving up football

Mohamed Salah's childhood was spent in a small village of Nagrig, located in the north of Egypt. His father was a simple trader, so Salah didn't see much money as a child. When they started playing football in the yard, Mohamed and his friends had to make balls from old socks. A real soccer ball was too expensive.

The career of Salah's children began with an invitation from the Arab Contractors club. Mohamed dreamed of playing football, so he accepted the offer, although it took him 4-5 hours to come to training. At the time, Salah was 14 years old and he often missed school to train.

“I went to class at nine in the morning and a few hours later I showed an explanation from the club: Mohamed is allowed to leave school early so that he can train at 2 pm,” said Mohamed Salah.

Salah did not miss training but by decision of the coach he was no longer part of the squad. At the time, Mohamed wanted to give up football because he was very exhausted from his four hour trip to training, after which he was not given time to play. The father was able to dissuade Salah from the idea and train harder. Soon Mohamed started playing more often.

Salah started at the side position

Mohamed really wanted to play as a striker, but there were enough players in that position at the club. The team played 3-5-2 and Salah closed the entire left side. In one of Arab Contractors’s matches he met a direct opponent and won 4-0, but Mohamed was not happy with the result.

“In the locker room, everyone celebrated and Mo cried. In such a match, he really wanted to stand out. Salah tried to cover more distance to help the attack, but didn't score, "said Salah's children's coach Said Al-Shesheni.

Al-Shesheni moved Mohamed on offense, and the future leader of the Egyptian national team to the new position scored 35 goals for the U-16 and U-17 teams. The high performance drew first-team coaches, and 17-year-old Salah made his Egyptian league debut.

Mohamed was not taken into the army thanks to the help of the Prime Minister of Egypt

Salah left Egypt in 2012. The country canceled the championship after the Port Said tragedy in a match between local club Al-Masry and Al-Ahli, a brawl began, in which 73 people were killed . Mohamed decided to go to Europe. He started his career abroad with FC Basel in Switzerland and moved to Chelsea in London in 2014.

Salah has not severed contact with his home country as he has constantly come to play for the Egyptian national team (first for the U-20, then for the main team). In addition, Mohamed had no higher education, which meant he had to serve in the army. The player should have served 1 to 3 years and leaving the country during this period was strictly prohibited.

“Salah said he was shocked by this decision. He told me he was trying to represent Egypt in the best light, and now the country is responding to him that way, ”said Egyptian national team manager Ahmed Hassan.

Even Egyptian Prime Minister Ibrahim Mahlab had to intervene. Thanks to his help, Salah was nevertheless released from the army.

Salah changed her daughter's name due to casino

In 2013, Mohamed Salah got married. The whole village of Nagrig was invited to his wedding. By some calculations, more than 1,000 people attended the celebration.

Soon, Salah and his wife had a daughter, whom the newlyweds wanted to call Mecca in honor of the holy city of Muslims. However, Mohamed later changed his mind to call his daughter because the name was the same as the name of the "Mecca Bingo" casino network. Salah decided to name his daughter Makka.

Salah had an open conflict with the Egyptian Football Federation. The authorities were afraid he would leave the national team
