Journey between tradition and modernity in Casablanca

Like Tunisia, Morocco had always seemed to me to be a hot country with many tourists and incredible human warmth (read my travelogue in the largest sandbox in the world). I was not disappointed when I decided to go to Casablanca, but this city had other discoveries in store for me. Far from stereotypes, it has all the ingredients for an unforgettable vacation.

Recollection in two splendid places of worship

The most important monuments of this city are the Hassan II Mosque and the Church of the Sacred Heart so I decided to go and visit both to understand the identity of Casablanca.

This mosque built on the sea offers a magical spectacle, as if it were floating above the city. I entered the premises taking care to respect the customs of this religion and admired the sculptures, the ancient paintings and the rooms of worship where the spiritual communion seemed infinite.

More recent, the church is directly inspired by the Sacré Coeur which is in Paris and I already liked the white stones used.

Casablanca

The tribute was very interesting, as was its architecture halfway between Western and Eastern style. The beauty of this place was as important on the exterior with immediate appeal, as on the interior where there were magnificent decorations.

Going from mosque to church allowed me to realize the very important place of religion in the city of Casablanca. Cohabiting in perfect harmony, Christians and Muslims have given this city its particularity.

A city of diverse inspirations

Casablanca

It was astonishing to me to discover at a fairly close distance the typical markets and squares and establishments that are more akin to American complexes. The Twin Center was created in homage to New York and is the nerve center of the city for shopping. I took the opportunity to shop among the dozens of international brands present.

A break to taste dishes with oriental flavors but aimed at an international clientele still made me happy as I loved these spices. After a busy day, I took the opportunity to reach my hotel that I had chosen precisely near this place.

The TechnoPark also shows that this city is focused on the future and innovation. A place inspired by Silicon Valley, its vocation is to develop new projects in information technology, green energy and culture.

This place fascinated me completely because it is amazing to see so many talents working to find ways to improve society in the future. The strength of Casablanca seemed obvious to me because, positioned in Africa, it could find solutions for all the countries of this continent and bring about future development.
