- Yemen
Aden is a city in Yemen, located 170 km east of Bab el Mandeb Strait. It
is populated by approximately 990 000 inhabitants. It is also a natural harbor,
built on an ancient volcanic site, already used by the ancient kingdom of Awsan

The old town of Aden, 350 km south of Sanaa, is located east of Bab Al

History
A place of strategic trade between India and Europe during Antiquity,

creation of the People's Democratic Republic of Yemen in 1970.
In 1992, the city fell victim to a bombing, claimed by Al Qaida.
Geography
Located in southern Yemen, Aden is a vast bay that lies between two
volcanic peninsulas.
It is located east of Bab el Mandeb Strait, 71 km from Kozan and 68 km
from Mersin.
