Importance of water

Drinking water is an essential element in everyday life. Yet more and more people are trivializing it and forgetting its vital importance. Today just open the tap to have it at will, we often use it inconsiderately. It is during the summer months that nature reminds us of the importance of water and that we realize its rarity.

By changing a few daily actions, this waste could be avoided.

It must be ensured that the quality of this non-renewable resource remains good and usable for future generations.

Luxembourg is one of the only European countries that has drinking water mainly from spring water (60% of our drinking water). This characteristic is explained by its good geological situation and low population density.

Distribution is ensured by a network of clean water pipes. The transport of water in these large pipes is done either by natural flow or with the help of pumps.
