A vertebrate animal has a body with vertebrae

Vertebrate animals are a large group of animals whose anatomy is provided with a vertebral column, which serves as protection for the nervous system. The animal is usually provided with bone and / or cartilage which forms its internal skeleton.

Animals of the animal kingdom that have an internal skeleton are often easily identifiable. Mammals are all vertebrate animals because they all have vertebrae, bones, which together form the spine and skeleton of the animal.

The birds are also vertebrates, but they are simply covered with feathers and have wings to fly.

Fish also have vertebrae, and will have either bones or cartilage to form their inner skeleton.

Reptiles and amphibians are also vertebrate animals, whose snakes are simply not equipped with limbs to move, but have a spine.

Bones in the body of animals have several functions. Allow parts, such as limbs, to move, but also as protection for more sensitive organs, such as the ribcage.

The spine is a set of bones in the center of which the nervous system passes. The other bones that form the skeleton and limbs are attached to it, usually using cartilage that allows movement between them.
