Abu al-Hasan al-Din Ali ibn Abi al-Hazm (607 AH / 1210 AD 687 AH / 1288 AD), known as Ibn al-Nafis, also known as al-Qurashi, is also a relative to Quresh, which is located near Damascus.
He was a great scholar, great doctor and prolific author of language, philosophy, medicine, and modernity. He was a renowned jurist and one of the pioneers of physiology in man, or what is now called physiology.
Ibn al-Nafis is the first to talk about the development of the heart muscle from coronary or coronary arteries. He also explained the function of vision in the eye, the first to indicate moderation in salt intake, and gave the most accurate descriptions of the dangers of salt and its impact on high blood pressure.
Ibn al-Nafis was born in Damascus in the year 607 AH / 1210 AD, and grew up and learned in the councils of its scientists and schools. It was said that his title is Qurashi relative to the shark. He died in Cairo at the age of 80.
Ibn al-Nafis learned in Bimaristan (hospital) the great Nuri in Damascus, founded by the just Sultan Nur al-Din Mahmud ibn Zanki in the sixth century AH / 12 AD, and was a contemporary of the famous medical historian Ibn Abi Abuqah, author of the book "eyes of news in the layers of doctors," and studied With him the medicine on the polite religion Abdul Rahim bin Aldkhwar.
Ibn al-Nafis traveled to Egypt, practiced medicine in the Nasserite hospital, and then in Mansouri Hospital, which was established by Sultan Qalawun. He became the dean of the hospital. He attended a group of princes of Cairo and his father, and the son of al-Nafis, Egypt. Al-Zaher Baybars, who appointed him as the head of the doctors in the Egyptian territories. This position was not honorary, but he had the authority to hold doctors accountable and review their mistakes.
Ibn al-Nafis also studied al-Shafi'i jurisprudence, wrote many works of philosophy, was interested in the rational interpretation of revelation, and studied language, logic, and literature.
