Florida deserves its nickname "State of the sun". With hundreds of white sand beaches, palm trees and thousands of lakes, it is one of the most popular destinations for Americans on vacation. It's impossible not to discover its cities (Orlando, Tampa and especially Miami), famous for their nightlife. Other must-see tourist attractions include Universal Studios, Walt Disney World Amusement Park, and especially the Florida Keys and Everglades (Florida Marshes) in the southern part of the state.

Climate

Geography

Located in the extreme southeastern United States, Florida is bordered in the North by Alabama and Georgia. Its coasts are bathed on the west by the Gulf of Mexico and on the east by the Atlantic Ocean. The southern tip of the state is extended by the Florida Keys Islands, a few kilometers from the island of Cuba.

The seaside resorts of Suncoast (Naples, Sarasota, Saint Petersburg), stretching from Tampa to the southern tip of the peninsula, are famous for their white sandy beaches. The most southerly point of the United States, the Keys are a group of forty-two islands, including Key West, home port of many writers. On the west coast, Sanibel Island is famous for its great beaches and its natural park, the Ding Darling National Wildlife Refuge. To the south, the Everglades Swamp, transformed into a national park, is a good alternative for those wishing to escape the ocean for a while.
