The blue tail moth has a maximum lifespan of one year.

The blue tails of small butterflies

Eastern Tailed Blue is a small insect of the order Lepidoptera, or a butterfly. He is part of the Lycenidae family. Like other butterflies, it goes through several mutations, including that of caterpillar, before becoming the adult flying insect.

With a wingspan of 16 to 26 mm, the top of the wings of this butterfly is blue pulling on the violet.

The outline of the wings is decorated with a black line and a white fringe. The underside of the wings is pale gray with a row of gray spots.

The upper wing is marked with black spots and the lower wing with several black spots scattered.

Near the tail are two black spots circled in metallic blue and two large orange spots.
