موقع ابن عثيمين للافتاء أبو عبد الله محمد بن صالح بن محمد بن سليمان بن عبد الرحمن العثيمين الوهيبي التميمي (29 مارس 1929 - 11 يناير 2001).[1] ولد في ليلة 27 رمضان عام 1347 هـ، في عنيزة إحدى مدن القصيم.

Salih al-'Uthaymin

His birth :

  He was born in 'Unayza, one of the cities of the province al Qasim in 1347

  of the Hegira on the 27th of Ramadan, in a family known for its dedication to the

  religion and its rectitude. He married one woman who gave birth to eight

  children; five boys and three girls.

His curcus:

  The Shaykh al-Uthaymīn - may Allah have mercy on him - had

  followed the path of predecessors in the search for knowledge. He began to learn

  the Koran by heart from an early age. It was his maternal grandfather Shaykh 'Abd ar-

  Rahman b. Sulayman and Dammigh, may Allah have mercy upon him, who taught him this. Then he

  attended diligently the classes taught by the exegetical shaykh 'Abd ar-Rahman b. Nasir

  Sa'dî -Allah have mercy on him - who was truly his first teacher. He studied at

  him dogmatic theology, exegesis, the science of Hadith, jurisprudence, & c. He took advantage

  of his knowledge for eleven years and he was one of his best students.

  During his academic studies at Riad, he studied the sahîh of al-Bukhârî at the

  shaykh 'Abd al-'Azîz b. Bâz, as well as some epistles of the shaykh of Islam Ibn Taymiyya

  and some case law.

  When the shaykh 'Abd ar-Rahman as-Sa'dî died, the shaykh al-'Uthaymin was charged with

  Imam of the Grand Mosque of Unayza and Teaching in the National Library

  from the same city, in addition to teaching in the scientific institute. Then he taught

  the foundations of religion at the two faculties of sharia, which are annexes of the university

  Islamic "Imam Muhammad b. Sa'ud >> who is in al-Qasim, in addition to his function

  member of the Committee of Great Scholars of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, a position he has

  exercised until his death.

  Among his masters, we also distinguish: the shaykh Muhammad al-Amin b. al-Mukhtar ash-Shanqita,

  the shaykh 'Ali b. Muhammad as-Salih, the shaykh Muhammad b. 'Abd al Aziz al Mutawwi'.

His behavior with his students:

  He took great care of his students. From all over the world,

  the seekers of knowledge flocked to him because he is rooted in religious knowledge. He has

  effective pedagogy and is very affectionate towards his pupils, as if they were his

  own children. He was so concerned about the problems his students were facing

  had reserved a large residence where they could stay and a library rich in books and

  ancient manuscripts -makhtûtât-. He also followed their school level and sometimes signed their report

  monthly in place of their guardian.

  He often advised his students to obey the Head of State in what he obeyed allah, to love him

  and to invoke allah in his favor. He always relied on the faith of Allah, he kept strictly

  the injunctions of Islam and he ordered the right and prevented the blameworthy.
