Solidarity stabilizes society
We talk a lot about solidarity today. But what does solidarity
really mean? Is it profitable only to the weak and the poor?
To feel solidarity is first of all to love one's neighbor and to
agree to help him. Solidarity is useful to society because it makes society
more balanced and serene. It is also beneficial to the individual in his daily
life.
Solidarity is an application of the law of love
Solidarity is the behavior that guarantees support in case of difficulty.
When we stand together, we are never alone in situations of distress. We feel
surrounded, encouraged, helped. Even the weakest have a chance to survive and
succeed in life.
To bring help, to support the weak, to encourage others is an
application of the law of love. And the greatest law of God is relative to the
love of your fellow man. Life is much easier when everyone can love each other
and be a brother. Because everyone needs someone in life, and that from birth.
It is therefore essential that men love each other and help each other.
To love your neighbor is:
to consider him as his like,
help him to the extent of his means,
to share with him so that he has the means to live well his life
and to achieve the goal of life.
Solidarity creates a stable and equitable society
Solidarity is a way to guarantee the stability of a society.
Indeed, it offers everyone the means to live properly. The search for the
common good makes it possible to limit the excessive social inequalities. The
resources of society are shared equitably. This avoids the frustrations, anger
and revolts of some. No individual is left out or unfairly disadvantaged.
Solidarity does not prevent individual success. Everyone remains
free to undertake and is encouraged to do so. But living in comfort should not
make one forget one's fellow men. It is even in everyone's interest not to
arouse the jealousy and greed of others. Frustrated individuals can be a threat
to society: they can rebel, steal, or seek to destroy. Individual good can be
obtained only by seeking the good of all.
Solidarity is based on
mutual aid. Helping each other means giving help and receiving something in
return: another help or recognition. So everyone is a winner. The organization
of solidarity in society is done through politics. The policy must establish
mechanisms to protect individuals, support people in difficulty and allocate
resources.
