Introduction:
The program of HEM gives a very big
importance to the training period as an important part of the training because
it’s a real experience that helps us (students) to apply what they learn during
their courses.
In the
second year we were asked to do an immersion training period in English that
will help us to improve our English level to make easier our immersion in the
Anglo-Saxon world.
The
importance of English is not just in how many people speak it but in what it is
used for. English is the major language of news and information in the world.
It is the language of business and government even in some countries where it
is a minority language. It is the language of maritime communication and
international air traffic control, and it is used even for internal air traffic
control in countries where it is not a native language. American popular
culture--primarily movies and music--carries the English language throughout
the world.
Communication
plays a key role in the success of any workplace program or policy and serves
as the foundation for all five types of psychologically healthy workplace
practices.
English is a
major language of international business, diplomacy, and science and the
professions. Important commodities such as silver, tin and hard currency are
traded in English. English is also an official language, or the official
language, of many international organizations, including the United
Throughout
the world, many professional papers are published in English. Even papers that are
published in other languages often have abstracts in English.
HEM gave us
three choices for our training period, to go to UK, to do a training period in
an Anglophone company, or to do it in an English centre or to choose some
country where you can spent your training period .
I’ve chosen to do it in wall street English
because it offers practically the same program and all the teachers and the
majority of the staff are English, and also it’s a well-known centre in morocco
and all over the world, and it started in the second week before the others
because I’ve a lack of visa and Mrs. Sakhaf tell me to go to do my test and
rejoin this center.
This period
had a lot of benefits for me because it helped me to improve my communication
skills and my business English, it gave me the opportunity to communicate and
to share ideas with English people, and to approach and know more about their
culture.
After our
training period, we were asked to realize a report concerning what we did and
realized during this period.
Also we
passed an exam about what we did in training period.

CHAPTER TWO:
1-MY
PERSONAL EXPERIENCE :
Once I’ve passed the test and interview
to identify everyone’s level I knew I was starting a journey and a training
that will change my perspective and enhance my linguistic and communication
skills.
I was taken
at intermediate class but by the end of the training and I acquired so many
things since I used English for almost every day.
Concerning
the test, it was an MCQ of different parts, we were asked about grammar,
tenses, vocabulary... Etc. The interview we had to answer to some questions, to
discuss with the interviewer in order to make him see our level of English.
We had all
the courses with Mr.ayoub, Mr mohamed. And Mrs. Nora The courses were about
grammar, communication, reading listening and writing practice and also we did
an important exercise in speaking centre where we use the computer to practice
our vocabulary, grammar and communication. Since a final evaluation was
necessary, we did a presentation about our project at the end of the training
period. It was a good opportunity to prove the importance and efficiency of
what we have learned.
At the
beginning of every class, Mr.ayoub chooses a subject or asks us to chose it -
and we brainstormed about it so that she can evaluate our knowledge. Basically,
we were given an opportunity to discuss and express our ideas collectively
(exchange of answers in small group) or individually.
We learned
new vocabulary through amusing memo techniques and a variety of teaching
methods and alternatives ways of practice in small teams. The role plays helped us retaining new words
and becoming more fluent in spoken English. It was also another way to express
my passion to theater and acting.
The most
interesting thing for me was the games we use to play at the end of courses. It
was amazing and helped us a lot to memorize new vocabulary in a funny as well
as educational method.
If I have to
describe this few weeks I spent in wall street, I would say without hesitation
that it was a fructuous period in which I had to study in a relaxed time
schedule (we had class just in the morning) . In addition, we had the chance to
meet new people (wall street’s staff) as well as new students of other HEM
centers. It enabled us to share our experience in a social and academic way but
also to enhance our linguistic skills
2-OUR
PROJECT WORK
My team and me choose to make a café
“Jerusalem café” for a good objectives : staying, playing, and have a good day
.
So for the
business plan:
1-executive
summary:
The
executive summary is the general outline of our entire plan, like why we think
that our project will be
successful..etc.
2-service
/product :
What exactly
are we selling, to describe in more detail what makes it special and why people
would be interested in it.
3-market
analysis :
Here we
should provide concrete information on what the likely market is for our
product or service. Who is likely to be interested in it, and how big is
our target market ?.
4- marketing
and sales strategies:
Even a great
idea may fail if we do not successfully market it. Customers may be reluctant
to try new things .and will we makes for them? and our kind of advertising it’s
the TV and radio.
5-organization
and management:
I was in
charge of our company because I’M smart and I have a good ideas more than that
I’m very able to do my work .
Organizational
chart:
Conclusion:
These five weeks were a lifetime
experience that helped me shape my linguistic and communication skills and know
that I m capable to challenge myself and dare to speak in front of new
people…dare to ask questions and mostly dare to improve my level and my
personality.
Besides
communication and presentation skills, wall street was the place where I shaped
my business English and improved my vocabulary.
It is true
that in the beginning I had to face some obstacles: new work environment, new
classmates and new teaching methods. But eventually I was able to get over it
by the help of my teachers as well as my determination.
Really, it
was a very important experience which helps me not only to improve my language
but also to enhance my social skills and learn how to cooperate and to adapt.
Through this
course, which took place in good conditions and the best atmospheres I
discovered a little professional world and get a real sense of this world. It
allowed me to familiarize myself with the administrative life from the
perspective of treatment, methods of analysis, and human relations.
And at that time I used this precious
opportunity to improve and implement my knowledge and skills acquired during
the period of training.
If I can
give some recommendations, I will be to try to diversify the destinations of
this training period and also to give more importance to English which is a
great language that everyone must be able to understand, speak and write.
