The importance of sport for the human body
In association with eating habits, the usual level of physical activity practiced by a person is involved in the development of the most frequent chronic diseases in industrialized countries (Table 1), in particular cardiovascular diseases, the leading cause of mortality. . Increasing the usual level of physical activity and limiting a sedentary lifestyle in the general population is therefore really an important public health issue. For the past ten years, the notion put forward is that physical activity does not necessarily need to be of high intensity to already provide a benefit in terms of prevention of chronic diseases.
SPORT - Whether you play sports to lose weight, get in shape, or - will you dare to say it? - just for fun, this practice changes you.
There is the red face and the sweat, the pounding heart and the pumping lungs, your alertness and your mood which are improving, this eagerness that did not exist before to speak only of big gap, of turns track, and personal record.
But if we all know that staying physically active is essential for a long, healthy and productive life, we do not know exactly what is happening in our body.
We asked experts to explain - from head to toe - what happens in our body when we exercise.

Muscles
The body uses glucose, the sugar that the body has stored in the food we eat in the form of glycogen, to have the energy necessary for the contraction of the muscles and the triggering of the movement.
It also uses adenosine triphosphate (ATP), but the body has only small reserves of ATP and glucose. After using these reserves quickly, the body needs extra oxygen to create more ATP. To provide more O2 (dioxygen), more blood must be pumped from the exercising muscles. If there is not enough oxygen, lactic acid will be formed instead. In general, lactic acid is removed from the body 30 to 60 minutes after the end of a sports exercise.
Small "bubbles" form in the muscles to help them get bigger and stronger as they recover from the effort. Aches simply means that these muscles are changing, says Boone, and they fade after a few days.
