A little tour of the world around marriage
Traditions mariage du monde
In some countries, traditions are almost identical in marriage. If you are a little curious, here is what it is important to know for some countries.
MARRIAGE IN FRANCE
In France, it is unthinkable to organize a wedding without certain key symbols. Many ancient customs are observed before and after marriage.
The burial of the single life, organized by the friends of each spouse a few days before the official wedding date.
The wedding rings: they follow the engagement ring to witness the union of lovers, it goes to the left ring which is connected to the vein, according to the legend "vein of love"
The dress is often white because it is a symbol of purity. The bride can also wear a garter, symbol of virginity and fidelity, as well as gloves.
We find the procession, the bridal music and the bouquet throwing
The wine of honor, wedding party and sweets: all this after the wedding ceremony.
Tradition has it that the newlyweds open the ball with a dance of two on the music of their choice. The French wedding is very romantic in general and quite classic. This is reflected on our wedding invitation .
ENGLISH MARRIAGE
Many French symbols are also used in England, but we find the tradition "Something old, Something new, Something borrowed, Something blue", which requires the bride that she wears on the day of her wedding four elements, like gray- Grey.
The first must be old (often a family jewel)
The second must be new (the bride often chooses her dress)
The third must be borrowed
The fourth must be Blue.
TO MARRY IN THE UNITED STATES
In the United States, customs are particularly respected, although most of these customs are of European origin. The "Something old, Something new, Something borrowed, Something blue", bring the bride on the doorstep, the garter, the wedding ring, the rice throw, the veil of the bride are taken again. But the favorite tradition in the US is auctioning the garter of the bride.
MARRIAGE IN SPAIN
Spanish culture is very influenced by the Catholic religion, the whole family is invited for the event. There are often more guests than a classic French wedding. The Spaniards are very traditional for their wedding.
The gifts exchanged before the wedding: The bridegroom must ask the hand of his companion to his father, in return, if he accepts, the son-in-law offers a watch to his future father-in-law. And the groom offers his future wife 13 pieces (las arras), symbol of his commitment. The bride will wear these pieces on the day.
The celebration: The ceremony begins, in general, after 19h, for climatic reasons and to avoid the heat. During the banquet, the bride and groom go from table to table and give a gift to their guests: cigars or alcohol for men, and scented gifts for women.
In Spain there is no auction for the garter but for the groom's tie.
Traditional clothing: Although today most brides wear a white dress, in tradition the bride's attire consists of a black silk dress with a black lace veil. Regarding the groom, he is supposed to wear an embroidered shirt by his future wife.
Guests and traditions: To promote the durability of marriage, the couple is wrapped with "el Lazo" (a kind of rope resembling a rosary).
In a Spanish marriage we speak of "padrinos" (godfather of the couple), there are no damsels, no boys, no children of honor, but since this American custom, it happens more and more than they are there.
Symbol of happiness and fertility and abundance, orange blossoms are traditionally chosen for a Spanish wedding.

The marriage contract is registered by the "maazon", a person competent to sign and register a marriage contract. However, nowadays, the Urfi marriage is more and more widespread, it is about a traditional religious union but without civil legitimation.
