Why educate?

Danton said "After bread, education is the first need of a people."

Education is a necessity because it is a baby is a helpless being at birth. He must learn everything to succeed in surviving. This learning is naturally supported by the parents.

To educate really means "to guide out of ...", so the family serves as a guide for the child.

To educate is to teach your neighbor to live in society (respect, openness, tolerance), to communicate (write and speak) and teach him the rules of social life. This teaching will provide the individual with an intellectual and sentimental balance.

This teaching allows man to evolve from the state of "savage" to the "cultivated and civilized" man that we are today. A Chinese proverb said: "We are brothers by nature, but strangers by education". This means that men are different from each other by the mere fact of being educated.

What are the basics of a good education?

In order to lead an effective education each parent must above all work on its resonance. That is, we have to differentiate our child from the child we were at his age. To give an example, if as a child I had my pencils stolen, when the same happens to my young child, my reaction will be disproportionate because my inner child will come to remind me of the suffering I felt at that age. Our past must not affect our education.

Parents, we must be careful with our actions. Children are in fact very attentive to our actions. They very quickly equate a gesture with a word, with an emotion and are confused when our non-verbal language does not agree with our verbal language.

We also need to speak the language of the child. A little one will understand his parents better if they try to speak at his level.

Be wary of colorful expressions that adults use. The little ones quickly make the connection with a word and do not differentiate between the literal and figurative sense. This leads the little one into confusion. For example, you talk to your neighbor and she tells you that she unfortunately lost her husband to his illness and later in the day you go to the supermarket still with your child and you say to him "above all, don't 'don't move away, I don't want to lose you'. The child will automatically make the connection to the morning conversation and will be terrified that you could lose someone and never find them.

The importance of words is very important when speaking to a child.

Guilt is a feeling to be removed from any education. Parents, especially do not feel guilty about your children. Perfect parents don't exist, and one or two blunders won't make you a bad parent.

Finally, the child needs a lot of love. If your job prevents you from getting the most out of your child, book a time in the week where you can play, socialize and cuddle your child. It is better to prioritize the quality rather than the quantity of these moments.

To develop properly, the child must have limits, feel protected and listened to. For this parents must establish several languages:

- The language of firmness where limits are set and explained to the child.

- Protective language where the child knows that he is safe near his family and that his parents will meet all his needs (eating, drinking, ...).

- And finally, the language of acceptance. The principle of this language is to give confidence to his child, and to enhance his image.

Learning as a child is a daily job, so it is best to understand and communicate well with your child for the best education.
